First that title should be Dave and the chipmunks....coz Alvin is a chipmunk right?
Anyway that's besides the point....... i really liked the flick except I think the Dave character should have been a bit funnier....
The chipmunks stole the show fer real.... i absolutely loved their shrill voices rapping to the sound of the beat..." Christmas is here"
Alvin...a little geeky for a chipmunk......but hey gotta love the guy...Theodore...i think hes kinda like blonde...Simon....hes very mischievous....saying things like " You're hot.... or ..."She wanted you..."
So moral of the movie ( this is my review) is that Dave learns that even chipmunks can become your family. The chipmunks discover that being loved and cared for by Dave is better than being treated like overworked rock stars by uncle Ian.
I think uncle Ian has pretty cool taste in terms of employee royal treatment......:-)

First of all, you got all the names wrong except for Theodore's. It is Simon who is the "geeky" one, as you put it and it is Alvin who says things like, "You're hot!" and you saying that Alvin (Simon) is too "geeky" to be a chipmunk is total nonsense! It is all fiction! Remember? They are "talking" chipmunks, for pete's sake! An idea that was dreamt up by someone who had a wonderfully, imaginative & genius mind and for decades everyone has loved that! THEY STILL DO!!! This movie was AMAZING! Couldn't have been better written and the characters were played by the perfect cast. Dave's character was not intended to be a "ha-ha" funny one, but what made his character funny was how unaware he was of how crazy the things he said actually were, simply because he was being "himself", the character. He was the perfect pick, the perfect "Dave". Uncle Ian was also another winning pick; his character was on point 100%, ask people in the music industry who has dealt with people in that sort of a position. He was a little over the top, yes, but I guess that is the whole idea here; the part called for it & he rised to the occasion. All 3 chipmunks were lovable, relatable, darling characters, playing the part of your average kids, lots of trouble & loads of fun, with a million & one memorable moments! AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME film!!!! If you haven't seen it, please do. I am one of the biggest movie critics and without a doubt, this movie gets two thumbs up!
