freiends forever?.......

If theres one thing that has puzzled me is my inability to hang onto friends.......Don't get me wrong. I have the friends.. in different categories...

Take for examples the iCoolers. I hang out with them most Sundays...... we are tight n everything ...they have plot. I am definitely having fun when i am with them.

Then there are my girlfriends. They are guys for starters. heheheh. but are very cool to hang out with. When am with them i am engrossed in discussions on relationships or am in a salsa dancing session :-)

Then there are the girls. I have had various girls for tight friends at different points in my life. When I am with her or sometimes them, we are an ice cream joint or watching a soapy movie. If we are talking, we are discussing guys.....lol

There is the cell group. We hang out Friday.ours is more of a spiritual bond than anything else.

There are the workmates. We are sort of the same age and everything. We may have lunch together. But we mostly hang out in the office everyone doing their own thing and yet we interact cracking jokes and laughing;making our time in the office as "enriching" as possible.

There are the schoolmates. Mainly ex-school mates, since I graduated. They......we had this discussion group which held us together till we graduated. Do we still link up? Well.....

Then there are the rest.......whom I have not really categorized. These guys are the flavor i need to go through everyday. They are random therefore we meet randomly! I can hala at them anytime of day or night and they are there.....

So yer i guess i'll have friends forever.....

What was, now is not......... :-(

Born May 6th 2008, she was light but just right. Her beautiful eyes filled with ambition and possibilities. She got accustomed fast to my touch. I cared for her. Washed her. Fed her.

Day by day we grew closer and closer. Whenever our eyes met, I could feel the bond between us. I would imagine a thought and she would make it happen for me.

At a very young age she surpassed my wildest imaginations. She brought gusto and life where there was none.She made everyday worth looking forward to.

Our love for each other grew with every passing moment.

One fateful day, June 14th 2008, she died. Just a little over a month old. She had so much potential stored within her. So much zeal. So much, yet she was no more............

As much as she is not with me physically, she will always be part of me...........R.I.P

LOVE.............

Love isn’t always courteous. Don’t expect it to knock on your door. If it barges in welcome it all the same;

Love may not always gently sweep you off your feet. It may roughly pull the rug from under your feet - don’t be mad, let it sooth your sore behind;

Love may not always ask for your permission, it may cunningly and stealthily warm its way in to your heart. When it does don’t b surprised, pretend you were expecting it and make some room;

Love will not always beg you to take it in, it’s up to u to take chance, take your time but remember someone else may take the claim;

Love will not always be a smooth road, but remember there's two of you to bear the course;

Love may not fulfill your expectations. It is for u to tell the difference between fantasy and reality;

And as someone once told me - just because someone doesn’t love you in the way you want them to doesn’t mean they don’t love you with all they’ve got;

Love is love and when we look beyond the uncertainty, it’s a beautiful thing.

Moving out.......

The nudge is strongly felt by the eaglet as her mother tries kicking her out of the nest.....ok not kicking out, excuse me. As her mother tries helping her grow to a mature eaglet who fends for herself.

The eaglet though little, has already grown the wings for flight. All she needs to do is to take the first leap and fly into the open sky. She is scared. Perhaps terrified. Though she will be known as the queen of the sky for her fierceness, she is apprehensive of the uncertainties that lay ahead.

She trips on the edge of the nest and almost falls. She quickly grabs hold of some twigs with her grown talons. The mother nods her head in despair. When will the daughter begin to fly she wonders? She nostalgically remembers her first flight. She was forcefully pecked (not kissed because birds have beaks- so this is painful) by her mother on her head repeatedly until she took it no more and fell off the nest. Then in a panic she lifted her wings and the wind lifted her off the ground as if in response to her wish.

Her daughter still in the nest is undecided. But the mother is patient; she won't force her to leave if she is not ready to. She won't result to pecking on the head as was done to her. She will gently nudge.

Then one day the eaglet looks over the nest for the very first time. Maybe in anticipation, maybe in fear. She decides that her time has come to take the first leap. She tries to stretch her wings but the nest constrains her. She takes one step forward toward the edge of the nest. Her mother looks on, tears beginning to fall on her cheeks (or whatever it is birds have). The eaglet looks back at her mother. She searches for reassurance. The mother whispers that everything will be ok.

The wind flows freely throw the feathers of the eaglet as she swoops down and down. She closes her eyes. Her wings were not opening as they should. She was going to die. Falling from the nest was a bad idea she keeps telling herself. She thinks that if she waited just a while longer she would be ok and that her wings would be more corporative. Just a short distance below her is a huge rock that could blow her head into pieces. She tries harder to make her wings open so she can fly. The wings stay lung to the eaglets helpless falling body.

She says her last prayers as her life (of a few months) flashes right before her eyes. She wishes her siblings the best in their endeavors to fly. Then she felt it. The warmth engulfed her. The mother came to the rescue. She was scooped right before she hit her death. She was overjoyed. She watched as the land below her disappeared into a blur. Then the mother let go of her.

Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! She screamed as her little wings flapped in a wild panic. And as natural as Mother Nature can be, the wind did its part in helping the eaglet fly. “Ohhh!” the eaglet though. She giggled from within as she watched herself soar through the sky. She was glad then that her mother showed her to fly in more ways than one. And deep down she knew that wherever the winds take her, she would always remember her first flight!

Paradigm Shift........

Waiting ... still waiting. Days have come and gone. Weeks, Months, almost a year now. She waits patiently for the day that it will all happen. Hanging on the last sea weed for what she has known as her life. She inquires. She probes. She requests. She begins to think that she is nagging and begging. She stops. Gives up. Let's go of her hold in life- the sea weed.

In despair, she gasps for air. The water fills her lungs. She does not want to go down this way. The eyes sting when she tries to open them to see how far down she has gone. There is something else falling with her. Her hands grope around to feel what it is. OUCH.....maybe a sting. Hopefully not fatal. She reaches out more cautiously. Just to feel it. She touches it and recoils waiting to feel another sting. No pain. She touches again. It’s rough. Not as hard as a rock though. Slowly moving toward the object filled with mixed emotions. She is scared but exhilarated. She reaches out again. It's not there. She must have moved in the wrong direction she believes.

After a few more tries of identifying the mysterious object, she gives up and so do her lungs. She collapses in a tiny heap on the sea bed. She was so close yet so far. She could have found the object but she did not.

The waters frown at the face of death taking its toll on weary beings. However death does not blame itself.” It’s not my fault that hope was lost", it says. The waters tremble as if breathing heavily. Gradually lifting the heap from the bottom of the sea. Now it feels like it’s a storm brewing. The body has been spat out of the water and onto the land.

All along the sea weed was on the edge of the land. The sea weed was a branch that sprouted from the rocks. The girl coughs and spits to remove the water within her. She opens her eyes. The bright light causes her to squint. Its day break and she is alive. Out of the water and onto the land. She looks behind her and sees the sea weed. Her sea weed. While holding on to the sea weed her back was turned to the land. She dint see it. But she is glad the water did.

Standing shakily she decides to take steps forward. Steps of faith. Not knowing what lies in the land she was thrown into, but knowing there is hope. She is not drowning any more.

Great turn offs??????

HE : Can I buy you a drink?
SHE : Actually I'd rather have the money.

HE : I'm a photographer. I've been looking for a face like yours.
SHE : I'm a plastic surgeon. I've been looking for a face like yours.

HE : Hi. Didn't we go on a date once? Or was it twice?
SHE : Must've been once. I never make the same mistake twice.

HE : How did you get to be so beautiful?
SHE : I must've been given your share.

HE : Will you go out with me this Saturday?
SHE : Sorry. I'm having a headache this weekend.

HE : Your face must turn a few heads.
SHE : And your face must turn a few stomachs.

HE : Go on ,don't be shy. Ask me out.
SHE : Okay, get out.

HE : I think I could make you very happy.
SHE : Why? Are you leaving?

HE : What would you say if I asked you to marry me?
SHE : Nothing. I can't talk and laugh at the same time.

HE : Can I have your name?
SHE : Why? Don't you already have one?

HE : Shall we go see a movie?
SHE : I've already seen it.

HE : Where have you been all my life?
SHE : Hiding from you.

HE : Haven't I seen you some place before?
SHE : Yes. That's why I don't go there anymore.

HE : Is this seat empty?
SHE : Yes, and this one will be if you sit down.

HE : So, what do you do for a living?
SHE : I'm a female impersonator.

HE : Hey baby, what's your sign?
SHE : Do not enter.

HE : Your body is like a temple.
SHE : Sorry, there are no services today.

HE : If I could see you naked, I'd die happy.
SHE : If I saw you naked, I'd probably die laughing..

So its over.....

When a relationship that you thought would be long term comes to an end.....or you bring it to an end, there mixed feelings are they not?

I cannot speak for the lads, but lassies would totally feel me when I say that at the moment you feel you want to break up with your guys u are soooooo sure that is it. That is what you reallly want, that is your final decision. Its almost as though there is no love there......

Then as soon as you say the words........ The words that lead to damnation on the part of the guy........the words that break the heart.........the three dreaded words........" it is over" ; as soon as those words are uttered in probable finality, you start wondering." OMG, is this eternal termination? Will I get another guy? Do I really want to end this?"

The question that follows is not totally a suprise but it is still not expected. To your dismay your guy about to be Ex'd asks you ," are you sure?"

For some reason that question is even used in tv game shows such as deal or no deal, who want to be a millionaire, etc. In my opinion, it is used to instill doubt in the statement or answer given. Secondly, Is a girl ever sure about anything......that is not a question that should be asked!!!! Ofcourse she's not sure, and the more you ask her, the more she doubts a decision that she took months making. ok enough with the ranting, but you get my point right??

So at the end of the conversation the Ex'd guy says he is ok with whatever decision you make. You decide to stick to your guns. You just want to be friends you say. He accepts without as much as throwing a tantrum. You are impressed at his composure. However, you wish he tried a little harder to make you stay. To be able to change your already undecided mind.

You part ways rather solemnly and wonder whether that is what being friends means.
